Event
2006 September 21, Thursday, 7pm — First
Congregational Church (Annex), Manchester Center, Vermont (presentation by
Cathy Stewart)
Our universe is not silent. Scientists have been studying natural radio
transmissions for years hoping to learn more about Earth's magnetosphere.
Most recent missions by NASA have brought back strange and unusual sounds
from other planets as well. Come hear what's out there and be a part of
this interesting discussion led by Cathy Stewart, a founding member of
SoVerA, the Southern Vermont Astronomy Group. This event will be in Room
107 of the 1st Congregational Church in Manchester, at 7:00 PM, on the
21st of September.
SoVerA is an astronomy education and pro-am research organization composed
of amateur & professional astronomers, educators, students and members of
the lay public. We are dedicated to making astronomy much more accessible
to all. It also makes available methods by which members may climb to more
involved levels of activity in hands-on observing and research. Talks and
presentations are held in venues throughout the Southern Vermont region on
the third Thursday of every month, with observing afterwards, sky
conditions permitting. All are welcome. More information may be found at:
